While the wound vac dressing will be changed today, her left chest tube will be removed and her central line dressing will be changed. An OR has been booked for tomorrow afternoon to explore and possibly close her belly if her output continues to trend down. The exciting part is that if she is closed tomorrow, we will be able to explore the possibility of extabation in the next couple of days. She is currently to sedated to be off the ventilator but her lung function is near perfect.
Wonderful news. It might get a bit more stressful as she is less sedated and more aware of her situation but hopefully she won't have wait too long. While we still likely have a long road to hoe, things are definitely moving forward.
