Thank you everyone for the emails you've been sending they have been a huge help. We've been reading them all to her, 248 thus far. Lots of crying and laughing here.
She had a rough day. She had a seizure that lasted two hours and forty five minutes before they got it under control. She had a subsequent one that they were able to quickly manage. We are hoping that we are done with those, now that she is on medication to prevent them.
Her kidneys have started to show signs that they are struggling, we think it might be more of a fight tomorrow.
Yesterday they were able to put her intestines back in her body and cover them with a sponge vacuum to assist with drainage. This has been a big success in managing her fluid discharge so that they can better gauge her fluid replacement. This is really important because Emerson's blood pressure is really sensitive to a change in her overall fluid level. In all she has had to be resuscitated about five times all with medicine, no chest compressions. It seems that they have been able to strike a better balance with fluid levels and medicine because her pressure and heart rate have been well managed today.
We hope each hour that she gets through without a major event and each morning hope she is strong enough to start fighting whatever this is. The wait feels long, but your support has given us hope.
