Post neuro update

So while Brian and I were sitting in the break room waiting area finishing a little lunch while grandma Nancy and auntie Kathleen were in the room with Emmy- Ems, we saw amember of the neuro team walk by and we knew she was going to see Emerson. We both half got up to see her and then sighed and said we rally won't learn anything anyway, so let's just stay put. We finished, headed back to the room and neuro was just about to leave. She smiled and said she got Emmy to respond to pain. I was shocked! A resident tried to get a response this morning and couldn't, but here we are 5 hours later and her right hand and foot twitched in response. Funny enough, she was going for a response in the left hand, but we'll take it. Everything but her left hand has moved a little at this point. I would be more concerned if it were her right side that was unresponsive because that long seizure was in the left hemisphere. While we still don't have big movements or coughs yet, we have small ones here and there. Maybe when the head of neurology comes to visit later, she'll have her first big reaction and hit or kick him. Not that I want it to go down that way, but it would be a good sign, right?

Also, Emmy is a peeing machine. I can't wait to read these posts to her when she is a teenager and she can be so embarrassed that I talk so much about her ability to go "pee-pee and poop-poop.".
